Dawn Maloney’s career as a full-time professional makeup artist, hair stylist, educator, and industry innovator spans more than 30 years across beauty, fashion, television, print, film, bridal, image styling, and business. A versatile artist and esteemed educator, Dawn is known for her exceptional work ethic, scientific approach to artistry, and her mission to uplift and empower the next generation of makeup artists.
In 1999, Dawn founded MakeupClasses.com, a pioneering educational platform dedicated to teaching a personalized, anatomy-based approach to makeup. Her now-renowned Advanced Makeup Techniques Courses have empowered more than 5,000 aspiring makeup artists worldwide, with her training reaching 22 major U.S. cities. Determined to demystify the beauty industry, she expanded her impact by founding The Makeup Studio in 2021, creating a welcoming space where students and clients can learn, grow, and navigate modern beauty standards with clarity and confidence.
A passionate educator, Dawn is the author of The Makeup Artist's Design Book (Patent Pending 63/716,477) — a groundbreaking system that defines 50 face shapes, 36 lip combinations, and 32 eye combinations, and incorporates lighting-conscious makeup designed for real-world conditions. Through MakeupClasses.com and her cosmetic brand Dawn Til Dusk Cosmetics, she provides certification programs, professional kits, and products crafted to perform from dawn til dusk.

She has served as a keynote speaker for the prestigious 2022 AACS Career Educator’s Alliance Conference in Las Vegas and produced an influential 18-video educational series for Crown Brush, used in cosmetology schools worldwide.
Despite her extensive achievements, Dawn’s core belief has remained unchanged: makeup is not about transforming someone into someone else, but about revealing and enhancing the beauty that already exists. She calls herself a “makeoverist” at heart — someone driven by personal transformation, growth, and empowerment. Her philanthropic work reflects this passion, with strong support for charities focused on addiction recovery and domestic violence.
Dawn holds a BA in Broadcasting from Montclair State University with a concentration in Women and Gender Studies, along with a New Jersey State Cosmetology License. She lives in New Jersey with her cherished husband continuing to inspire others through her compassion, innovation, and lifelong dedication to elevating beauty education.
